The Favor Collective builds free websites for artists. We collect only what we need to run those sites, sell art, and help artists tell their stories. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.

If you’re visiting

You can browse every artist site without an account. We don’t use analytics or advertising cookies.

  • Our hosting provider (Vercel) handles standard request information, like your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
  • Art search. When you use the art search, the words you type are sent to Anthropic, an AI company, to match your request with artists and pieces. We don’t save your search in our database, although, like any web address, it can appear briefly in our hosting provider’s request logs. To prevent abuse, we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address with the time of the search.

If you buy art

Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, and we never see or store your full card number. From checkout we receive and keep your name, email, phone number, shipping address, what you bought, and the amounts paid.

We share those order details with the artist who made the piece so they can deliver it and contact you. The artist sees them in their Studio and gets them by email. See our Terms of Sale for how purchases work.

If you send a message or ask about joining

  • Commission and contact requests on an artist’s site: we store your name, email, the kind of request, and your message, and email it to that artist so they can reply to you directly.
  • The “Interested in joining?” form: we store your name, email, optional phone number, optional link to your work, what you tell us about your art, and a hashed version of your IP address (to prevent spam). We email it to our team.

If you’re an artist or helper with a Studio login

  • Sign in. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Sign-in is handled by Supabase, which stores your email address.
  • Your site. Your name, photos, art, stories, prices, payment usernames (like Venmo or Cash App), and social links are shown publicly on your site once it’s published. Photos are stored with Supabase.
  • Writing helpers. “Help me write my bio” and “Help me write it” send your answers to Anthropic to draft text from your own words. Your answers are saved privately so you can come back to them, and they’re never shown on your site unless you choose to use the draft. When you add art, its main photo is also sent to Anthropic to create a short visual description that helps visitors find it in search.
  • Getting paid. If you set up payouts, Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly. We keep only your Stripe account ID and whether payouts are turned on.
  • Invites. If someone invites you, we store the name and note they wrote for you, and who sent the invite.

Emails we send

We send email through a service called Resend, and only for things you asked for or need: sign-in codes, sale and message notices to artists, and notes to our team (for example a new joining request or a site that’s ready for review). Stripe may email buyers a receipt. We don’t send marketing email.

Cookies

We only use cookies that make the site work:

  • Sign-in cookies, set when you sign in to the Studio, so you stay signed in across your site and the Studio.
  • A “see as visitor” cookie, for signed-in artists previewing their site. It ends when you close your browser.

Who helps us run the site

We rely on these companies, and they handle information only to provide their service to us:

  • Vercel (hosting)
  • Supabase (database, sign-in, and photo storage)
  • Stripe (payments and artist payouts)
  • Resend (email)
  • Anthropic (AI for search and writing helpers)

We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information by emailing john@johnaconstantine.com. We may need to keep order records for tax and accounting reasons, and Stripe keeps its own records under its privacy policy. Artists can edit their profile and art any time in the Studio.

Children

The site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
